01 The story, in three paragraphs

Why everyone keeps coming back.

Situated in the heart of Islington, Sorrento Pizza is a charming local gem bringing a slice of authentic Italian flavor to London’s bustling streets. Specializing in pizza delivery, takeaway, and a delicious range of pasta dishes, this quaint eatery at 288 St Paul's Rd serves up genuine Italian comfort food with a focus on quality and tradition.

What truly sets Sorrento Pizza apart is its dedication to crafting pizzas that echo the spirit of Naples and Rome without leaving London. Customers rave about the perfectly chewy yet crisp crusts, vibrant tomato sauces, and generous, fresh toppings that create a harmony of flavors in every bite. From the classic pepperoni to the richly savory garlic sauce — a must-try accompaniment according to loyal fans — each order promises to be a comforting and satisfying experience.

Ollie Kettle, a passionate pizza lover, sums it up beautifully: “Simply put, these guys offer up some of the best pizza I've had outside of Rome!” Such praise highlights the care and authenticity behind each handcrafted pie. The takeaway nature of the restaurant makes it an ideal choice for those craving quick yet high-quality pizza, perfect for enjoying in the cozy comfort of home or on the go.

Ordering online is seamless, as Ms Crome notes her surprise at her pizza arriving well before the estimated time, hot and fresh, with flavors so compelling she calls it “possibly my new favourite pizza, ever.” Meanwhile, Marcus Bagnall appreciates the diverse menu options and encourages diners to say yes to their tantalizing garlic sauce—evidence of Sorrento’s attention to flavor details that elevate a simple takeaway meal into something memorable.

The welcoming ambiance, though small, is brightened by the friendly and personable owner who, as Mariana Rodrigues shares, is a joy to interact with, making every visit feel personable and warm. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, grabbing an 11-inch pepperoni pizza here feels like a warm hug after a long day.

While some may find the crust a bit on the lighter and crisp side, as Jon Chan notes, it strikes a perfect middle ground between upscale authentic pizza and the greasy, indulgent takeaways, delivering a satisfying balance of flavor and texture that hits the spot for many.

In sum, Sorrento Pizza stands out as a reliable and heartfelt neighborhood pizza haven — ideal for those who crave genuine Italian flavors delivered quickly with a personal touch. If you’re in N1 and looking for a pizza experience that feels both authentically Italian and warmly local, Sorrento Pizza is waiting to impress your taste buds.

Pretty good local option for those who want something close and therefore hot when delivered. Crust was a bit dry but light and crispy. Tomato sauce as some flavour (but could have been better). Very much hits the spot of the middle ground between something a bit more authentic (eg Zia Lucia) and something dirty (eg Papa Johns) - both equally tasty depending on what you fancy at the time.
